Playing Dadish 1

Next Version: Dadish 2.

Dive into the utterly charming world of Dadish, a 2D platform adventure crafted by Thomas K. Young. You step into the shoes, or rather, the roots, of Dadish – a radish who also happens to be a concerned father. His little radish kids have somehow gone missing, scattering themselves across the land, and it’s your job to guide him on a quest to find every last one. The adventure unfolds across 40 carefully designed levels, each one presenting its own unique platforming challenges. You’ll need sharp reflexes to navigate tricky jumps and avoid the rather unusual enemies, most of whom seem to be based on walking, hopping fast-food items! Getting through these diverse environments requires real skill. What truly adds to the charm is the payoff at the end of each level: a genuinely witty and often surprising conversation between Dadish and the child he just rescued, injecting a wonderful dose of humor into the journey.

Visually, the game is a treat with its lovingly crafted pixel art that instantly evokes a sense of nostalgia for classic platform games. This retro feel is perfectly complemented by an upbeat, catchy soundtrack that will stick in your head long after you stop playing. Beyond the standard platforming, you’ll encounter distinct boss characters that test your skills in new ways, and hidden stars tucked away in secret spots throughout the levels provide a great incentive for players to explore every nook and cranny, adding significant replay value. The controls are wonderfully straightforward and responsive, making the game immediately accessible whether you’re a platforming veteran or just starting out. It’s no surprise this blend of solid challenge, heartfelt humor, and retro appeal earned Dadish plenty of praise and led to even more adventures for our favorite radish dad.
